Sports Officials Worldwide – for national and international governing bodies and federations

Sports Officials Worldwide is committed to the support of all officials and volunteers in the journey through their sport’s development pathway, from grassroots or foundation to elite.  It is our firm belief that great officiating is the key to safe, enjoyable sport for all.

Recent research conducted by us suggests that in NGBs and some Federations, the officiating function while being acknowledged as important or even critical, suffers from poor investment in time and money.

Officiating as a sector in sport has its challenges: many officiating pathways are incomplete and invariably it is a willing volunteer who is responsible for driving forward any development initiatives.  Add to this the profile of the officiating workforce: 90 per cent are unpaid, they work so spare time is precious and in order to fulfil competition commitments throughout the UK or internationally, are very widely dispersed.

Sports Officials Worldwide is equipped to help sports overcome these challenges.  It is an organisation that has created an online community that connects individuals, sports, their officials and the wider volunteer market with sport specific pathways and generic cpd.  This is done via an e-learning platform or Learning Management System (LMS) which has been designed by and for sports officials and is available to UK sports as well as internationally.
