World Cup 2022 : England’s captain, Harry Kane, will have a scan on his injured right ankle before Friday’s match against the United States at the World Cup.
Kane, who is now 29, was hurt in the second half of Monday’s 6-2 Group B win against Iran.
His replacement, Callum Wilson, was subsequently seen with ankle strapping.
On Wednesday, Kane will have a scan to see how serious the issue is.
As a member of the Three Lions, the Tottenham forward has scored 51 times in 76 games.
The scan findings for Harry Kane are crucial for England manager Gareth Southgate as he prepares his squad for their second group stage encounter.
James Maddison, a midfielder, sat out Monday’s game against Iran due to a knee injury, while Harry Maguire, a defender, left the game due to illness.
At England’s Al Wakrah training camp on Wednesday, Wilson did not participate in a light training session with the rest of the replacements, but he is not a fitness question.
