SOUK Chair, Chris Kelly, on his plans for the organisation

Chris Kelly, newly appointed Chair of Sports Officials UK, outlined his plans for taking SOUK forward into the next phase of its development.  He said:

“In my mind there are three main functions that define the value of SOUK: as owner of National Officiating Standards (NOS) it provides a resource through access to robust, accredited and generic officials’ education; it is, a community and as such builds and develops relationships across all sports via individual memberships and the collaborative working between NGBs and it is a partnership – why would any sport wish to be alone in the operating their officials?

“The advancement of these aspects of SOUK’s profile is a priority.  Members have been clear in stating that they wish to see progress in all of these areas and together with them, SOUK is committed to leading the way in providing safe, secure and enjoyable sport through outstanding officiating”.

Chris Kelly was appointed to his role at the SOUK AGM on Tuesday 18 June 2014.
