What Is Sports Officials Worldwide ?

Sports Officials Worldwide – for National and International Governing Bodies and Federations

Sports Officials Worldwide is committed to the support of all officials and volunteers on their journey through their sport’s development pathway, from grassroots or foundation to elite.  It is our firm belief that great officiating is the key to safe, enjoyable sport for all – a philosophy shared by our colleagues, partners and clients.

All of our learning and development is guided by this philosophy.  We aspire to delivering more competent, confident officials that add value to any competition environment from primary school playground to seniors.

Officiating faces a number of obstacles to its development. Despite being regarded as pivotal to successful delivery of sporting activity, in many organisations it does not have the resources or status required to campaign effectively for funding support. It is frequently driven by volunteers who offer an abundance of experience and goodwill but whose time is precious.  90 per cent of the officiating workforce have full time jobs and families.  Their spare time is given up to officiating with no reward other than satisfying the passion and commitment they have for a sport.

Sports Officials Worldwide and its partners who share the same philosophy are equipped to help sports overcome these challenges. First and foremost, we have created an online community that connects individuals, sports, their officials and the wider volunteer market with sport specific pathways and generic CPD.  This is done via an e-learning platform or Learning Management System (LMS) which has been designed by and for sports officials and is available in the UK and internationally.
